Wow those numbers are eye opening. Do you primarily deal in hockey cards? Do you think those numbers have more to do with the NHL lockout and the decline of American attention given to the NHL?

I believe I saw the NHL tv numbers for American viewers were almost neck and neck with the NBA.

Combination of everything. Many Americans are trained only by ESPNBA, once they start showing hot dog eating instead, they just assume that Hockey is no longer a Sport.

It would depend on the cards seeing as I am primarly low end collector who likes to trade for inserts & parallels most likely.Spending 3.50 + to ship to canada for cards that may book in the $10-$15 range yeah i most likely turn it down. Shipping to canada and get $50-$100 back no problem but those trades are rare for me.

I don't really care what the value is when I trade as I go by a no trade to big no trade to SMALL moto.

2 weeks ago I traded 3 10-11 OPC rookies ($5-7 bv) for 2 no name Young guns.

No offense to anyone and I'm sorry if you take this the wrong way but if you are going to back out of potential trades because of $3.50 for shipping, you may want to find a cheaper hobby.

I bet for this year that's true because of the NBA lockout. I wonder what the numbers look like over the past 3 years?

On Ebay, I am willing to bid a higher amount on US sellers' cards than Canadian sellers' cards purely because I don't trust Canada Post. Similarly, I hated selling to Canadians for the same reason. The only refunds I ever had to give were on cards sent to Canada that the buyer never received (and I had buyers from Sweden, Finland, Russia, France, Germany, Japan who never had problems). They weren't high dollar cards, so $10 tracking wasn't worth it. So, either Canada Post lost the cards or Canadians lied and stole my cards. Either way, I just stopped selling altogether, as it is pretty stupid to try to sell hockey cards and exclude Canada. I don't think you can just blame the economy or American interest in hockey. I live 100 km from Ontario; how hard can it be to transport some cardboard across the border?

Sounds like another person dealing with the province of Quebec. I think they open them and if it's not a Hab it goes in the garbage, and if it is it goes in their pockets. I know alot of sellers have excluded Quebec but don't exclude all of us you may want to give it another shot.

My trading hasn't changed, I haven't had one trade declined for postage. I don't buy as often has I used to from the States on ebay, cards that once would have cost me $3 for shipping are now costing $5-$6 on a $4 or $5 card thats just not acceptable.
