The standard sized base set cards feature either a black and white or color photograph of "The King." Bordered in silver and finished in a metallic sheen, the cards depict a concert or event from Presley's career. The card backs have a different black and white or color photograph from the same event. The backs also list a moderate summary that made the event note worthy.

2012 Press Pass Essential Elvis is a high end and Elvis fans dream come true! Nostalgia buffs will also get a kick our of the set as it features lots of candid and less well know shots of Elvis. I really like the additional shot from the same event on the back of the card. Yes, two of the relic hits listed above are the same. They are not duplicates though. I did receive two boxes to review. The heavy gloss on the card fronts takes finger prints really easily While the hits are nice, I think 2012 Press Pass Essential Elvis will not be for people looking to flip cards to make money. True fans and collectors will not be concerned with re-sale value and look past the price per box.

The Bottom Line:
I give 2012 Press Pass Essential Elvis a buy rating. It will be pricey to complete the base and the parallel sets. The hits look great though. I am sure Elvis fans will want to get their piece of "The King!"
