I can't sell my high end cards on ebay. How do you know that you that the bid is legit? What protection do you have once you send the card off and there is some type of dispute on the buyers end? I would deal with an auction house with something that expensive. I know that I would lose a precentage of the sale but I would have peace of mind knowing that I wouldn't have to deal with all the ebay drama.

No kidding. I sold an ipad a couple months ago and it was a horrible experience.

Sometimes, I wonder if this is a good way to launder money. You know... for the criminal element.

One thing I have learned in my years in the hobby - when money is no object for a person, they will happily drop huge dollars on premium cards.

Yeah, yeah, money is an object to all people even billionaires, these sales are often times not legit, or are sold from one dealer to another to inflate prices and make an appearance of the card going up such that it can be sold elsewhere in shows etc...Moreover allot of is set up by the card companies themselves to show an false market and to give other people breaking their boxes a false hope at a huge lottery prize.....in the end it is just a piece of cardboard, with a signature and a piece of cotton glued to it...

I wonder if these buybacks and products like Leaf Basketball are causing prices to inflate? I assume they are getting them off Ebay.

Well seller has been known for some dishonest behaviour of late(below). So chances of this sale coming through with feedback is highly unlikely given sellers reputation. Another FAKE auction!

Buyers BEWARE...Seller SHILL bids, chk out THIS auction/past auction 0 FEDBK bids
WORST Costumer service.CARD was NOT in good condition.SELLER REFUSE Refund/Retur

Another good way to leave a money trail for funds gotten in an unscrupulous way.

for $17k I would hand deliver the card to you.... or go get it if I was going to buy it.

I wouldn't buy any high end cards sight unseen... just my opinion! :D
