WTTF // 07-08 Ultimate Auto Rookies /399 & /99
Hey everyone,
Looking to build this set from my all-time favourite product and year. My specific wants are listed below.
Here are some simple notes about the trades:
1. I am willing to trade down, but I will not exceed 2-3 cards max
2. High-end cards are only available for the big three: Toews, Kane, Price
3. Everything is in the traders section (the high-end section is unavailable except for the three above)
4. No faded autos
5. Nr-Mint to Mint cards please
6. I go by SV on all my deals
I am always happy to trade, but these are the current cards I am looking for. I am actually trying to slim down my collection so no others card except the ones below (with exception of 07-08 Ultimate Auto Rookie Shields if you happen to have one).
***Would love to do a deal with you guys, but I can't stress this enough. What I have is in my traders below. Post what you have AND what you want from my traders or you can PM me. But please let me know what you want in return. Read the notes above as well.
I go by SV on all my deals. BUT if BV on the card matches with BV of the card or cards you want and they happen to sell the same, then I am fine with that. =)***
Thanks!

PM coming your way, but as stated above, I am looking for what it sells versus what it books for.
If BV on the card matches with BV of the card you want and they happen to sell the same, then I am fine with that.Last edited by Yipper; 05-25-2012 at 11:54 AM.

I hear what you are saying. The only problem I have with this is that I can find examples where auctions sell outside of your examples you gave me via PM. Hanzal was hot during his playoff run. Once the summer comes, I doubt that card fetches for more than $25 at auction.
It is easy to say you only trade at sale values when it benefits yourself. Book values, while I will admit is never a perfect way to trade at all times, it does allow us to start somewhere.
I am willing to give you 1.5x BV....$75 in BV trade for a $50 BV card because I acknowledge that he was hot and the patch is pretty nice.
But if you want to discount my cards at $2 a pop, not including the $3-5 shipping costs I bet those auctions also added to the final price, than we will not get a trade done.
If you want to meet in the middle, that is up for negotiation.

But he isnt saying that, hes saying he always trades by sale value. If the card is hot, he wants his hot values, if the card is cold, he still goes by the current market value

I have not used or bought a book my entire trading career.
All prices are relative of what the current market value is. Whether it is hot or not if I am trading any card I would request the current going rate. If it is not to my liking then I will simply pass.
I am well aware you have been on here for a while and the book value of any of the 07-08 stuff has not changed besides the stars since launch date.
There is simply no reference that links the value of one card to another in a book. Base cards can literally book for 5, so does 10 base cards equal a Bv 50 card. The base sells for 10 cents, the card can literally sell for 50. There is concrete sale values on all cards on eBay or other sights including other members threads. Besides a few they literally sell $1 or $2 a pop. Prices are always up to date on there. If something drops, it works both ways. It's part of trading, buying, or selling.
We are trading, I will have to pay shipping as well. And I know shipping 1-5 cards in a top loader is the same price as a fat one. Shipping is standard, I'm not requesting 50 cards in return for one. We both have to incur a cost.
If you don't agree with what the cards actually sell for, it's fine. I will pass, no hard feelings.
PS: I sent you a PM explaining how I factor in values or how I calculate the value of my cards. Please don't try to make this a public example when I literally PM you about it.Last edited by Yipper; 05-25-2012 at 07:29 PM.

No problem. Never had any hard feeling on deals that don't work out.
I am up front and I appreciate your candor as well.
Never had an intention on making you a public example.
I made my offer clear and what I am willing to offer.
Thanks and good luck with your set. It is a sweet set. I have many of these and UD Ultimate is easily one of the best value with potential to always go up due to low print runs and difficulty in locating cards.
