First time buying a 1000$+ card, suggestions?

    Hi everyone,

I'm collecting non-sports for quite some time now... I used to collect Basketball cards but last few years more into non-sports but NBA never lost my interest, on the contrary, I'm more and more getting back into the sports :)

Now my question, recently I purchased a case of non-sports and had the luck to pull a great redemption card and got in the mail a few days ago...
Now this is a card that will most likely sell over a 1000$, as I've seen on several auctions on the bay...

Now I'm thinking about selling that card and spending that money to getting back in the game of basketball... What would you suggest me to buy with that amount??

It doesn't have to be from one specific player or team because I like a lot of them!! :)

    Here are some examples:

    -Jordan RC BGS 8??
-Durant Rc auto (obviously not the Exquisite)
    -Westbrook Exquisite RC
-National Treasures RC auto (Turner, Harden,...)
    -Others...

These are just examples of cards I like just because I'm fond of Rc's :)

So, it doesn't have to be especially for an investment, but it has to be a clean card!!!!!! :)

    I'm open for any suggestions!!!!

    Thanxx a lot!!!

    Greetings Towny

Well $1000 won't get much at all in today's basketball card market. So if there was one card on my radar, and i only had limited funds to spend i would go for the Jordan BGS8.5 at least.

That to me is the holy grail of basketball card collecting.

As much as I like Durant I would go with the Jordan. You can never go wrong with fleer Jordan rookies.

If you're spending a grand on a card, imo, it better have MJ on it somewhere. Anything else is too high of risk. If i were to spend that kind of money on a single i would buy something like a triple or quad auto of MJ, Magic, Bird, Dr. J, Kobe, Kareem. Any combo of these guys as long as MJ is on it and #ed to no more than 15.

Obviously from monetary perspective you want Jordan. If you're just looking to collect sweet cards, you could look for a MINT Wilt Chamberlain RC + something else.
