It would be pulling an autograph from a pack for me. For some reason you have an attachment to the card when you pull it from a pack yourself.

Haven't done it in awhile, but I go nuts when I get the chance to get in person autos. I remember going in high school and college with my parents to a Brewers' series. As soon as we entered the stadium, I was down by the dugouts trying to get autos or pictures.
Now I sometimes do TTM, mostly buying on ebay/SCF, or when I'm lucky, something like TwinsFest.
Definitely the thrill is in the in person stuff. That's my opinion.

Definitely in person first, then pack pulled, what's really cool is getting the players auto in person at a minor league game and watching them become a star, only happened to me once it was Evan Longoria when he was playing with the Montgomery Biscuits and I got his auto at an MBraves game in Mississippi.

absolutely in person, that's where 99% of my autos come from. i don't do TTM cause that dosen't have a lot of personal value to me. i'd much rather get to meet the player, shake their hand, get to look them in the face and thank them. pulling an auto from a pack is a thrill too but it's a distant 2nd to meeting a player in person.
