WHo is a vintage card collector?

I am trying to see if anyone has some helpful info on places I should look to buy the older cards from the 1950's. Sure there is Ebay and Sport card shops, but usually the sport card shops sell them for what they are worth, and EBAY I really get irritated with having to out bid a person who ends up winning it for just a few cents more than me anyways. LOL. I have only been collecting for about a year now and I love the older cards more than anything. So any helpful info would be most appreciated.
    Thanks John

If purchasing vintage cards off ebay make sure you buy them already graded as those that are not graded usually means there is something wrong with them(ex. trimmed). Also, it is hard to buy raw off ebay as you really can't inspect the card before you buy. Try card shows for in person pruchases.

I am looking for cards from the early 1950's. Between 1950-1955 to be exact. Either Bowman or Topps

I mostly collect Baseball cards and still am in the process of liquidating my of cards. Eventually here in the future I am looking to trade them out for the cards I am more intorested in.
