    Why Sign a Baseball Swatch?

Does anyone know the story behind the set in which NBA players sign a piece of a baseball? I've wondered it for a few years and never understood.

Always wondered the EXACT same thing and from a person who solely collects basketball I still don't get it...
    Marketing/sales wise it's a cross-collectible I suppose.
Ugh, I absolutely despise that set.

don't make since... only a few NBA players should sign a baseball swatch... i.e. Michael Jordan... or other players that played baseball in college, so it appeals to the fan base of those that collect players that went to that college...

why not just sign a basketball swatch...

If I'm not mistaken, Sweet Spot (the baseball product) released in the early 2000s, before Sweet Shot. I think it's just a "tradition," if you will. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, either, but they look kind of cool.

The only downside is that autos fade really easily on these cards:
