    UV light

    Hi all,

Silly question time; what is classed as 'UV light'? I know sunlight is, but is there anything else that can damage my cards and/or memb.?

UV light refers to ultra violet light. Its any light with a wavelength of 400 nm or less.

Even the light bulbs you use day to day produce a small amount of UV light, although they primarily produce visible or 'white' light.

Other common sources of UV lights are "black lights", lasers, etc. etc.

just keep them in the dark if you can help it.

    Cheers,

Light bulbs was what I was getting at really. My cards (in UV protected holders) and signed gloves are under bulbs.

You shouldn't worry about UV damage. But UV damage really means cracking the polymer and making them dry out and brittle, or fading really fast. Any coloured item under constant light, even white visible light will begin to fade over time. You can help that by using low level lighting, or indirect lighting.

    Cheers,
