Olympics info thread

Yeah we are heading into another Olympic summer. Stars are made in a blink of an eye this summer. I thought I would start a thread where we might be able to help each other with who might be signing where and when before and after the games for those who chase these stars autographs down. I will start with some sad news as TTM friendly Shawn Johnson has hurt knee and has retired from gymnastics a few days ago. I am not sure that you can still reach her at Chows Gym anymore. Talking gymnast you all will like to know that Chelsie Memmel and Nastia will be in the Kellogg's Tour of Champions hitting 40 US cities after the Olympics. Via Venue fans might be able to help you target the best stops for possible successes. I will add a link at the end of this post for those looking for cities they will hit. Looking forward to seeing, if any of our members might contribute to this thread.

Wow, I did not know that the Training center for the gymnastics was in Huntsville, Tx. That's where I went to college and it's only 30 minutes away from where I am now. I may have to drive up there a couple of times and try to get some other auto's since I've gotten Nastia already. I wonder if you might see them around town, that would be kind of cool.

via email: Amy Yoder Begley autographed 4x6, autographed 6x10 personalized added "2008 Olypian 10,000 m 31:13" "To Mike , Set Goals! Amy Begley SK 14:56" and a nice personalized card on her stationary signed as well! Three autographs from this olympian! Address is in the TTMM. In her card it mentioned that she will be trying to make a comeback, but looks too late for this Olympics.

They did announce who will be in the preliminaries for the gymnastics Olympic team.

Anyone have any information on where the track and field qualifications will be and when?

Looks like the Mens and Womans basketball USA Dream Teams will be playing in Washington on July 16th! Anyone have the dates and cities of other stops?

What a mess! Did any of you see the 100m ladies final for Olympic qualification? The third spot is a dead lock and only one the ladies can make the trip! Really they are thinking of a coin flip to see who goes to the Olympics? What!!!! Umm... looking forward to see who goes, but hoping that these two training partners do not have to do run offs prior to trying to qualify in the 200m where Felix has a real shot at Olympic Gold and does not need the distraction! Just being at the games would be great! I hope that you are able to land the tickets to the events you want to make it to!

I'm looking to ttm to a couple of Olympic Track and field people for autographs.

Where would I send it now to try and get them?

Do Olympians usually sign ttm?

First time, so any advice is appreciated.

With it being so close to events I might think you are in a tough window now as the track and field qualifications are wrapping up and the Olympics start in like four weeks. Current Olympians might be getting rough for TTM. I would say that it is still a great time for former Gold Medalists. Yes a good number of former Olympians sign. Shawn Johnson, Carl Lewis, Bruce Jenner and many more have made their way into my collections. Look through the TTMM for other sports and you will see a good number of them.
