Why not?
When you are a better player than 80% of all the league's forwards. He has to commit to the NHL however.
He brought electricity to Nashville's game last year that has always lacked that since their inception. Nashville didn't play exciting Hockey until his shift.

If he's staying in the NHL for good, then Nashville is stupid as he provided a spark to their game offensively that they didn't have.

The question is, does this guy care about the NHL? Sure, he likes the money, but judging by his play on and off the ice in this years playoffs, do you wanna spend big bucks on him? I wouldn't.

He is probably content with the KHL where he is THE star in the league and makes a bunch of tax free money in his homeland. At least I am assuming that is the case.

from what i've heard, most russians are treated like GODS in the KHL whereas not so much in the nhl.
