How to find local card shows ?
i havent been collecting cards and been to a show in probably 10 years.... im curious how I go about finding out when/where is next.... and back then there was no ebay, or if there was nobody knew about it yet.... so is there even an advantage to going to a card show vs. just going online??

Best thing is to check the current Beckett.

from my experiences, you might pay a little more at a cardshow, only because most are asking Beckett prices. On ebay, most items go for below what Beckett values them. There's also a better chance to trade at a local show though, it all depends what you're looking for. It's still hard to beat that atmosphere of the card shows. The bigger card shows can be found in the back of the Baseball Beckett.

Funny you should ask!
I recently had a post about finding sports card shows on my sports card blog. I also have not been to a show in over 10 years and am interested to go to my first one since I was a kid. My problem is that I live in a major metro area and don't have a car and almost all card shows are out in the burbs.
Here's my post about where you can research card shows (a couple of the links have already been mentioned above):
Finding Sports Card Shows/Conventions
