Recent Blue Jay Pickups!!
Picked up some Blue Jay stuff at shows and from my Bowman Jumbo Breaks so here we go!!!

Morrow

Barnes
Sucks that Morrow is out for an extended period, but Barnes looks to be moving up the ranks in the Jays minor leagues and he is in AA now and has 20 saves with a really good E.R.A. Not bad for a guy that was picked 1000 something overall!!!

Some hot stud prospect autos I picked up in trades and at a recent card show here. Norris looks like another promising prospect and being a lefty does not hurt his chances to accelerate through the system. McGuire has not been at the forefront this year, but he is another good prospect that should get a look in a couple of years.

Alvarez has to be the most hard luck pitcher out there. His numbers are pretty decent with an E.R.A under 4, but ALL of his mistakes get taken out of the yard and that holds true in the 18 home runs he has allowed this year. This kid is fearless though and does not let anything get to him and he has had a couple of weird things happen to him and he never gets frazzled.
Hutchison is also in the same mould as Alvarez and is a warrior with emotion and he was not even supposed to make the team this year, but he has shown he belongs with his 5-3 record. GO JAYS GO!!

Nice stuff bud. Deck is the only one of the group that I'd say is destined to be a 3-5 guy in the rotation which isn't bad, but I doubt he'll be a big time arm. Alvarez and Hutch autos are real nice. I actually picked up a few tristar prospects plus autos of Morrow (06) and Gose (08) on the cheap while you still can.

I am looking forward to seeing Gose later this year and it really is a bummer that Morrow looks like he'll be on the DL for an extended time since he was really breaking out this year and was on his way to an 15-18 win season.

I never thought Morrow would be a #1. I saw AJ Burnett 2.0 when I saw him in 2010. Always had the Ace stuff but didn't think he'd harness it. Not there yet but he was progressing in that direction. Disappointing for sure.

Burnett has an attitude problem. He always had the stuff, but I don't think he's the type of person to sit down and listen to people and just wanted his talent to do the talking. He's off to a decent start in Pitt but chances are he's going to wear out his welcome there too.
Drabek reminds me a lot of Morrow as well with more emotion. He might have the best stuff on the staff, but he needs to work on his command. Too many walks!
