    Discounted Blasters and stuff

On a business trip to the good 'ole heartland. I try and stop every hour and a half or so when I'm driving, so I get to visit several Wally Worlds and Targets. I also hit up a KMart which had the best gems of all that I could find. Most of the places I went to were really rummaged through and some of them were so bad that 60-70% of the stuff was already open. I cried a little inside at that Target.

Picked up a 2008 UD Artefacts blaster and a 2010 A&G blaster for $11.99 each, plus tax. Came out to $25.83, for which I had a $25 traveler's cheque and two quarters, two dimes, a nickel, and three pennies to pay for. I am awesome.

At one of the Targets I grabbed one of those 4 packs + an autograph and a 2012 Gypsy Queen rack pack to add some recent stuff. I'll list what I feel is relevant!

    The "Bad" stuff first:

4 Packer had the follow packs and cards:

    2007 Fleer Ultra:
    Tim Hudson
    Brad Lidge
    Bobby Abreu
    Carlos Delgado
Ultra Iron Man #10 - Cal Ripken Jr. cycles around the bases

    2007 Upper Deck Series One:
    Nick Markakis
    Todd Linden
    Manny Ramirez
    Yuniesky Betancourt
    Richie Sexson
    Ronnie Belliard
    Juan Cruz
    Milton Bradley

    ...

2008 Upper Deck First Edition Update:
    J.D. Drew
    Kenny Rogers
    Paul Byrd
    Jason Kendall
a 1/2" x 2 1/2" strip of white cardboard with green stripes on either side
    Michael Bourn
    Ray Durham
    Chris Carpenter
    Wily Mo Pena
Delmon Young (Twins Uniform so... PC?)
    Ken Griffey Jr. Starquest (Common)

BLISTER Pack of 2008 UD Spectrum:
    Richie Sexson
    David Wright
    Jason Bay
    Chris Carpenter

    AND THE AUTOGRAPH IS...

2003 Donruss The Rookies Ian Ferguson #0624/1000

About what I expected. Glad to see he didn't even make it through 2003. I just wanted to make sure I got some ink because I like pulling ink, even if it's of Ian Ferguson. LOL!

    2012 Gypsy Queen:

    Retail Framed Cards:
    #80 Ryan Braun
    #150 CC Sabathia
    #57 Michael Young

ZERO Idea on Short Prints or whatever, so here it goes. I collated wrong, so we'll count down:
    #299 Mike Carp
    #298 Brandon Marrow
    #284 Todd Helton
    #205 Devin Mesoraco
    #196 Adam Wainwright
    #142 Carlos Gonzalez
    #129 Scott Rolen
    #123 Geovany Soto
    #122 Casey McGhee
    #115 Kurt Suzuki
    #89 Bud Norris
    #73 Ben Revere
    #17 Trevor Cahill

    Inserts:
    Future Stars - Jeremy Hellickson
    Hallmark Heroes - Mickey Mantle

    MINIS NEXT!:
    #25 Doug Fister
    #38 James Loney
    #148 Dan Haren

Pretty unsatisfying... two inserts and that's it. Yuck.

    2010 Allen and Ginter Next:

    MINIS:
    #78 Da Vinci
    #79 Ad Back James Loney
    #88 Black Border Kosuke Fukudome
    #329 Troy Glaus SP!
    NA18 Canada - Beaver
    LO24 The Muses
    WB4 General Sherman
    SSS9 Pizarro

    Inserts:
    TDH49 Justin Morneau
    AGHS11 Andre Ethier

    SPs:
    #305 Kelly Johnson
    #325 Brett Gardner
    #331 Huston Street
    #346 Ryan Theriot

    Regular Cards:
    #23 Joe Mauer
    #61 Michael Cuddyer (Twins PC?)
#66 Orlando Hudson (Who? Twins PC?)

Last But Not Least 2008 Artefacts:

    #165 Historical Moments - Woodstock
    #165 Historical Moments - Woodstock ...
#184 Historical Moments - Pope John Paul II
    YSL5194 - Don Mattingly
    YSL3154 - Yogi Berra

... and the guaranteed "hit" ...

    BSM-31 - Jeff Kent - Kent cracks 18th career two-homer game

At least I can say Mr. Kent has a nice 'stache for his mug shot.

Also, I have a #109 Donny Lucy RC that is way more silver/grey than the other cards... is that just a printing oddity, or intentional? Ditto with a #99 Chad Cordero. And a #73 Ryan Howard.

    Thanks for the read!

Thanks for the play-by-play on the break, it was a good read. You picked some great smilies to use with the cards you pulled.

    Well played, good sir!

Thanks! Been wanting to really sit down and do one of these complete with smilies for awhile. Trying to emulate my buddy Steve (a.k.a. spuds) and since I love reading HIS breaks, I would imagine others do too, so why wouldn't they enjoy reading mine? Cheers!
