    Odd Stan Musial Failure. Help?

I sent a ball and pen along with a SASE (bubble mailer) and long LOR. Today, about a week later, I received my ball back unsigned, in my SASE with all of my postage uncancelled and a stamp that says "POSTAGE DUE (21 cents)". All of which I understand, this was my first ball and came up one stamp short on my envelope, but why would I get the ball back, and why are my stamps uncancelled? Odd. If anybody can help, thanks.

Stan Musial charges big money to sign through the mail. Otherwise he will return items unsigned, usually with a price list. Stamps are uncancelled because this envelope had to be hand cancelled as it couldnt go through the machine. For whatever reason the stamps missed out on getting cancelled, it happens.

Has anybody actually had a decent Stan return for awhile? And when I say decent, I do not mean based on how much money it cost. I am talking about the quality of the graph....I've seen some horrible examples of his signature lately. I have an opportunity to get him at a private signing, but honestly, it makes me nervous based on what I've seen.
