one of my favorite players is derrick mason because of his big heart of the game.i think it was 2 years ago when he played a couple games with a hurt shoulder and had to catch the ball numerous times with one hand and he was still better than alot of receivers in the game.he really impressed me cause alot of the players will sit out when they are hurt.another big reason is when i went to training camp he took time to sign for everyone there and he took a picture with me and 2 of my boys which we will have that memory forever.he is a great guy and a great player.

It is going to be no secret who my guy is. Derrick Thomas. I think the coolest thing about him is how he became involved in so many things while in the NFL. His 3rd and long Foundation was one of the first of its kind. In 93 he won one of the most prestigious awards that has nothing to do with play on the field but how you leave your mark on the world. For his efforts he was given the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. He was also given the 832nd Point of Light of President George H. W. Bush’s “A Thousand Points of Light”. I have included that piece of his speech that revolves around his decision to include DT's foundation.

"I have spoken of a thousand points of light, of all the community organizations that are spread like stars throughout the Nation, doing good. We will work hand in hand, encouraging, sometimes leading, sometimes being led, rewarding. We will work on this in the White House, in the Cabinet agencies. I will go to the people and the programs that are the brighter points of light, and I will ask every member of my government to become involved. The old ideas are new again because they are not old, they are timeless: duty, sacrifice, commitment, and a patriotism that finds its expression in taking part and pitching in."

The man makes me want to be a better person. He had money and fame. He did not have to care. He was raised by his mother without the financial help of his father (who passed away in service to our country). His family was strong and he was a man among men. RIP DT.

Pierre Thomas. I talked to Pierre over the phone through a card shop. Once I saw his NFL debut against the Bears I knew he could be good. Once I talked to him I started buying his cards as a true saints fan. And after a while I had my collection featured in Beckett. Now I super collect him and just got a quad auto redemption 1/1 of Drew Brees, Pierre Thomas, Marques Colston, and Devery Henderson.

My favorite player is/was Junior Seau. He played the game with a passion that few have and lived his life off the field with the same passion for helping others. I met him a few times and each time he was up beat and called me buddy. I treasure the memories and mourn the loss. A community icon gone too soon.
