Luke Schenn for James Van Riemsdyk
As per, Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger: Luke Schenn traded to the Flyers for JVR.
Makes sense.

Good for the leafs, we needed more offense, Schenn can be replaced.

Awesome move for the Leafs! They have enough D and needed a power, scoring forward who will be a star on the Leafs!
Also another pair of brothers is united this weekend with Luke and Brayden Schenn in Philly. Eric and Jordan in Carolina.

I think it was a steal for the Leafs.
But now as a Leafs fan said: "Extremely happy about Schenn for JVR! I understand now why Burke took Reilly, but he still could've traded down IMO. Burke follows up a bad move with a good move. Sound familiar?"
Interesting.

Interesting trade, but I love it! I'm going to miss watching Schenn lay his huge hits, but as long as JVR is healthy, this could be a great deal for the Leafs.
Just to note on the side: another American player added to the Leafs by Burke

Taking Morgan Reilly now makes sense. Good move by Burke as long as JVR can stay healthy.

This is a good move for Schenn, and Burke taking JVR screams to me "oooh! Another American"; This only works if JVRs injuries are a thing of the past.
I could of kept my Schenn Collection going on almost any team, but not the Flyers. I hate the Flyers.

I'm very happy with the deal. I checked out a couple of Flyers chat boards, and a lot of their fans seem ticked. It made me glad. :) I agree with the opinion out there that I expected to have to give up some sort of other depth player or pick with Schenn to land JVR, so good on Burkie for only parting with what was necessary.

JVR is a great pickup, but I think Philly will come out the ultimate winner. Schenn has been wasting away in Toronto and was never given a chance to really develop. He's one of the best Dmen I've got to watch play for Kelowna and he is on the talent level of Weber, Myers, Keith and Gorges. A change of scenery could be very good for him and I think Leafs fans are going to wish they still had him in a couple year. Problem is, he`ll never hit his potential in Toronto.
As of right now, I say this is a good hockey trade for both sides.

What has Holmgren been smoking? Trading away Richards, Carter, & now JVR...power forwards with "wheels"...pun intended...take longer to develop...but are like gold, really hard to find.
