Ochoblanco welcome to SCF I am BSEBALLCOMMISH75. I see your an Astros fan and as a fan of the game of baseball I have to get your take on what you think of the Astros shifting leagues next year a good thing or a bad thing. Also if ya ask me Craig Biggio is underrated member of the 3000 hit club and shame he only got to the Fall Classic one time in his career. Once again welcome to SCF.

I think its a "smart" move by the MLB because lets face it the AL West is basically the Rangers and 3 West Coast teams. Hard to develop a rivalry when you are traveling so far away for IN DIVISION games. Obviously the Rangers and Astros will have the in state rivalry plus the travel won't be as bad with simple 1 hour flights from DFW to Houston and back.

The move will hurt the Astros because...well...they are young, are notorious for not having much in the way of a strong lineup, and their pitching is no better than average (pen and rotation). This will equal to many, many losses the first few years. I only hope playing the Angels, and A's, and Rangers, and the BoSox and Yanks helps with attendance. If attendance comes up, so will our GM's spending.

Craig Biggio is the greatest Astro of all time...and I say that knowing full well that Nolan and Wynn and Richard and Bagwell probably had stronger careers...but none played their entire 20+ year career with just the Astros...like Craig did. It will be a shame when he fails to get in the HOF until maybe his 5th or 6th try....if then even.
