Rangers can still go for Nash if Parise goes elsewhere
Last July 1, free agent center Brad Richards and his representatives huddled in Toronto to sift through multiyear offers before formally accepting a nine-year, $60-million contract from the Rangers.
A similar scenario is expected to unfold Sunday in the same offices of Newport Sports Management, where the most coveted forward in the market, the Devils' Zach Parise, will be wooed with long-term offers expected to surpass $8 million per season.

I think the amount Parise will get will be absolute craziness! Anything over $7.5 per year is nuts! The Sedins are at $6.1 million per year and I'd rather have either one of them than Parise. Also if Parise goes to the Pens he has to take less than $8 mil per year. I think Minny is ready to pony up some cash though as they need to win for their great fanbase. Detroit also has money to spend but I think they get Suter, not Parise.

Minnesota seems like real players here. I suppose it all depends on Parise's ego.
He goes to Minny and he and Koivu are the show, on a team that fades year in and year out.
He goes to Pittsburgh and he's Crosby and Malkin's Hockey bag-boy.
He goes to Detroit and he will be expected to be a complete team player, again with a little more limelight than Pittsburg could give him.
He goes to the Rags and he goes under the microscope with more expected from him than both Richards, and Gaborik.
Downsides abound other than the Big Money he will seemingly get.
