How is everyone?
Hey there everyone. I'm new to this and really don't know what to do. I love sports and have a lot of cards from my childhood and some recent ones. I want to be a collector but really don't know where to start. Have a lot of cards from the 80's and early 90's which I understan aren't worth much. Any suggestions on how to get started? Have lots of rookies and the the 1989 upperdeck set which I guess is the prize of my collection right now. Have baseball, basketball, and a few football and hockey. How do I get rid of the unwanted cards.

Welcome to the site man!
do a quick overview of your cards, sort them by sport. then compile a list of all the cards you have . might take you some time, but it's well worth it in the end.
post the list in the trade/sale threads and see if there's any interest . if you have alot of cards from a set etc, post it in the set collector forum. might help aswell!

Eric,
Welcome to SCF...
What you would want to do is get on the boards under each sport specifically and see how things work here.
Some members have a need for even the most obscure things on here. Completing sets of even the 80's & 90's stuff
Lety us know if you have any questions

Grab yourself a price guide, look through it and see what is worth anything. Those will be easier to move for the cards you want to get. The rest may be wanted by set collectors and player collectors.

Welcome to SCF!
You can get rid of unwanted cards by creating a trade list or you can always sell them. If you are trading, post a list of sets, players, or teams that you are looking for in return.
