If he refused to honor the auction couldn't the buyer hit him with a negative?

I didn't think it was necessarily shill bidding, but the evidence now seems to point that way. Either way, I'd avoid a shady seller like this. He obviously didn't get what he wanted for the card, so he's refusing to sell.

I guess these guys just think we're too dumb to notice sometimes.

It's shill bidding, report it if I'm not mistaken ebay can tell based on IP address if they're stupid enough to use the same pc. Either way I'd report it, if they're as helpful to you as they have been to me then I'm sorry, but reporting it won't hurt anyone unless he is indeed shilling, I believe he is due to the retractions and relisting.

    Here's another auction: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330798995813

What does everything think? Seems fairly obvious to myself.

I just took a look at all his completed auctions in the last 15 days and the same bidder with 1 feedback has hit them all. What a joke.

To bad, I needed that card. I will email the seller and call him out on it. I may just buy the card for the sole purpose of leaving him a negative.

IMO anytime you see someone with very low or no feedback putting up bids ending in 9's is an indication, who would bid like that if they're new to ebay (low feedback) the % of bidding with one seller depends on how many auctions they've been invlolved in the last month, bid retractions is a big red flag for me, I;ve seen guys with 160 bid retractions in 6 mos. Only time I;ve ever retracted my bid was to cancel it to use BIN to ensure I got the card I wanted. Just my $.02
