    Nobody wants Minnesota's Money

Apparently, Minnesota has made both Parise and Suter longterm contract offers, that are in the $80-$90 million range/each.

That is likely in the 10-12/year range with an average salary in the $7-$9 - million/yr range.

From what is being said out there, they still don't expect either player to sign with the Wild.

    Suter likely to the Wings

    Parise likely to the Kings

Must suck, when nobody will take your money :))

As I mentioned on the other thread. Minnesota is the Goal-Scorers kiss of death location.

I agree completely, Havlat, Heatley, Sykora, Setoguchi, Rolston, Parrish, Demitra all were more successful elsewhere......

The defensive and trap-like system from Lemaire's days apparrentlly must be still in place. In possibly in slight fairness, Mikko Koivu was injured for part of the season since he's the team's main centre.

Also gotta note that Gaborik was successful with the Wild, when he was healthy. It's a team that does not work well for forwards that are not good two-way players.

The rumoured numbers, were 12-yrs @ $84 million for each of them.

Annual number of $7-million/yr (first year was front-loaded so avg. would likely be smaller) but since they kept saying how they wanted to play together, this was one of the few teams that made them both an offer.

There were also a couple of whispers, that said Minny went up to $88-million/per player, when neither jumped at the first offer.

Was just watching the idiot box and the Pit channel was reporting how Mario, Baby Sid and Parise were golfing together at a private Pittsburgh course.

Parise would be nuts to sign with Pittsburgh. One more hit and Baby Sid could be done. Plus, does he really want to play the Devils, Rangers and Flyers (8) times each/year? The team you left and the other two that you spurned?

Even though I still think Suter is still a lock for Detroit, some are now saying that the Rangers are offering him an annual salary of $9-million/yr. Crazy!

Stupid teams can't help themselves and will need another lockout, just to help themselves out.

Oh yeah - Philly "apparently" trying to pry Webber from Nashville loose. Bouwmeester could be there consolation but Calgary apparently wants Schenn.

Capitals close to acquiring Bobby Ryan???

Everything a lot of you have said already... Minny has shot themselves in the foot since they came back to the league as the Wild. They've rarely had a decent team, focused way too much on defense and boring teams that nobody wants to watch, they've yet to acquire a big name player, and former big picks (gaborik) left as soon as they could... and this is supposedly one of the richest hockey markets in the US.... someone needs to take a good long look in the mirror at what's going on there. There's nothing in it for the players.
