Alex Semin had one of his worst seasons in terms of offensive production last year. He still would have been a very, very close second in both points and goals for the Avalanche. He's expected to not re-sign with the Caps and test UFA instead, his agent having said as much to ESPN, but both he and Ovechkin denied that immediately (via the excellent Chesnokov).

The Knocks: Semin is coming off a year in which he was paid $6.7 million to pot 21 goals and 54 points. He is seen by many as a guy on the decline. There's that word "enigma." Then there's the rumors that he's headed for the K and a payday, the insinuations of floating and poor work ethic on the ice, and everything else you hear about every Russian in the Caps organization and many who aren'.

I would love to seem him on the Aves! I have been saying this since before Free Agency opened up, rather than chase Parise or Sutter I was hoping the Aves would Sign Semin to a 1 or 2 year deal to give him a shot.

Where does the money come for Big Paydays in the KHL ??

Is it simply Russian Billionaire ownership throwing money around? I'd love to know how revenue is generated in the KHL when the average Russian that enjoys Hockey still has little.

All the money is from the Oil companies in Russia.

For Semin I would gamble 1 year 3 million on him.

If the Red Wings take this guy, I will be extremely upset with that decision. He needs to be in the KHL, it's perfect for non-triers.

As talented as he is, you don't want this guy on your team. Arrogant, apathetic lazy ™™™. Recently called a "coach killer". A term I completely agree with.
