New NHL Collector from Australia
Im just getting into NHL cards and have decided that a team collection of my favourite team the Pittsburgh Penguins was a good choice. Im looking to buy some boxes from Dave and Adams soon and was wondering which boxes you would recommend as best value and best quality release. I would also be keen to know which boxes I should go after to have a good chance at some decent Pens cards. Help is appreciated so if anyone could help me kick off my collection that would be great. Cheers

Welcome to the Board !!
You can get the whole Pens Roster as it stands today for a fraction of the cost if you buy individual cards off eBay.
As it stands Pens Rookies begin with Dupuis in the 01-02 Season. Fleury in the 03-04 Season and the bigs of Crosby 05-06 and Malkin 06-07 season of which there aren't many boxes available. Other Pens Rookie occupy similar years and a few from 08-09.
Go To: http://www.hockeydb.com and type in any Pens Player. It will give you the player history, as well as cards issued by brand and year of any player.

Welcome! Good to see another Australian on the boards.
If you are looking for Penguins cards as centrehire mentioned above, ebay is probably your best way to go.
However if you're set on buying boxes I'd go for the newer releases, Titanium or SPA would be a good start. SPA is released later this week and is always popular, Titanium has the chance for some fairly nice hits. Then you can trade or sell the hits for Penguins you want.

Where are you lot from in OZ?
I lived in 3 places over a 2 year period and had Temporary Residency before crapping me guts out in Asia and having to return to Canada:
Billinudgel, NSW - 1981
Byron Bay, NSW - before the Japanese Invasion and the Development. 1981
Armadale, Vic - 1982
I wished I had retuned to fulfill my Anzac destiny. Lol

Out of anything very recent, probably Panini's Rookie Anthology.

Buy singles if you want the best value in getting Pens cards. If you want boxes I recommend SPA, Titanium, Certified, etc. Also depends on how much money you are willing to spend.
