T-Fig IP Success Thread
I originally had no intentions of starting one of these because I don't think I graph enough to justify it. However, I do enjoy seeing how everyone else does and it also helps me pick up tips of what players do and don't sign, so I thought that since I do this, most everyone else probably does, too, and it would be selfish of me not to help out. Plus, I had a really good game last night and want to share.
Last night, I went to the Braves-Phillies game in Philadelphia. I came in hoping to get Chipper, Hanson, Heyward, and McCann on balls and Chard Durbin for an '08 Phillies Team set. Right as they let us in, the first round of Braves BP was finishing up and McCann was at the top of the steps going into the dugout when someone asked him to sign. He stopped and held his hands out, waiting for someone to throw him something, which, for whatever reason, nobody did. I decided to step up and tossed him my ball, which he sweet-spotted. After Chipper hit, he took fielding practice but didn't stop to sign before going into the dugout. Heyward went right in, too.
After those two went in, I went to the other end of the dugout, where the pitchers usually come in after shagging fly balls. Durbin came in first and I was literally the only person asking for him. He said he might sign when he comes back out. Hanson came in next and said the same thing. I wasn't holding out too much hope but even if no one else signed, McCann made it a successful night.
About 15 minutes before the start of the game, the Braves players came out to stretch and the pitchers starting working their way back into the dugout, too. After Chipper stretched, he came over to the top of the dugout steps and said he was going to sign one and pointed to a little kid. Then, he kept signing, pointing to the person who he would sign for, one at a time. I was about the third person he signed for. Unfortunately, he ran with a sharpie. I'm not going to complain, though. I mean, I still got a sure-fire Hall of Famer to sweet spot a ball for me.
Around this time, Durbin came out again. Once again, I was the only person asking for his autograph and again, he shot me down, this time saying he needed to go out to the bullpen. Undeterred, I still waited to see if Hanson popped up, like he said he would. After waiting a few more minutes, I saw him stick his head up from the dugout between the two sets of steps. Luckily, I was able to get where he was without getting in anyone's way who was already sitting, so I ended up getting him.
All said and done, I came away from this game with Chipper Jones, Brian McCann, and Tommy Hanson all on the sweet spot of baseballs. I'd say it was a good night. I saw Dan Uggla and Juan Francisco sign, too but didn't go for either one.

Solid, do you ever hit Trenton? I'm there every weekend home.

I do not. The only stadiums I hit are CBP and the Reading Phillies stadium. Occasionally, I will hit the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs but I have had terrible luck there, so I don't go there often.
