Angry regarding not being able to ship laptops/electronics internationally????????????????

Can anyone elaborate on the issue and everyones options that sell these items? I sold a HP Touchpad on ebay and a warning came on the screen when I went to print a shipping label that said something to the effect that if the item has a lithium battery, I cannot ship with USPS and suggested UPS instead... I went to both places in person and its the same with both parties

If the batteries break, they can cause a fire. So many shipping companies are not shipping them anymore.

I say just ship it and not worry about what the PO says as chances are nothing is going to happen to it in transit.
If the lady at the window asks whats in it just make up something.

It may not be right but thats what I'd do.

    USPS _ Don’t send a hazardous material.
Many household items can’t go in the mail.
Hazardous materials come in a wide variety of forms and can be chemical, biological, radioactive, or a combination.
The Postal Service's™ definition of a hazardous material includes many common household and consumer products. They may not be dangerous on your shelf at home, but they can become a hazard when shaken or when the temperature or pressure changes.
    Some common hazardous materials include…
    Perfumes
    Nail polish
    Flea collars or flea sprays
    Aerosols
    Bleach
    Pool chemicals
    Paints
    Matches
    Batteries
    Fuels or gasoline
    Airbags
    Dry ice
    Mercury thermometers
    Cleaning supplies
    Items previously containing fuel
    Glues
    Fireworks
Not sure if what you’re sending is hazardous or prohibited? Just call 1-800-ASK-USPS or your local Post Office.
