Sweet Spot Autographs.........
When players sign the leather, is it still on the ball or already cut off?

does it really matter?
my guess would be that its cut off but not in the cards
if its still on the ball, he could be off and not get it exactly on the spot
if its on the cards he could damage the card while writing on it

I'm guessing the leather never was a ball, but just a white peice of leather with red stitching made to look like it came from an actual baseball. It would cost UD a fortune to buy a bunch of balls just to cut apart for autographs.

The leather never was a ball...just a material that they had sign and formatted into a card

Actually guys, there was an article in Beckett I'd say about 2 years ago that showed the process and difference between Sweet Spot and Fleer Sweet Sigs...
UD actually purchases pre-put together balls minus laces from various ball producers (Rawlings, etc.).... The stitching is put in after the pieces are signed...
On the other hand, Sweet Sigs uses solid pre-cut squares of leather... I don't believe they explained if they cut it or just left it as a square though...
