Question about shipping to Canada!

The first time i shipped hockey cards to Canada i didnt know what i was doing so i only did 1 and it came to just under $2, so once i knew the price i went ahead and filled out the customs forms for the other 3 and they were each over $3. I had no clue why there was a jump in price and ever since it has been like that except on Monday when i did my weekly shipping each package was just under $2 to Canada and under $1 to the US. NOTE The packages were the same size as the other ones.

My question! Why is the prices different and can some one let me know if theres a different type of shipping they are doing so i can request them to do the cheaper shipping cuz over $3 a package sucks, lol.

Any help would be amazing

Now in Canada, when using bubble mailer not too large and not too wide. Mainly the postal office as a plastic with a hole in it and if it fit then you can get the low rate. The other thing to take into consideration is the weight. Has to be under 100 g. Then outside these parameter you pay more.

If you want DC you pay more. If you want signature, even more, inssurance, even more....

Mainly in Canada what they call non standart letter that fit in their whole so with a max width and how large (#00 and #000 bubble mailer fit this gabary) up to 100 g 2.10 then 100g to 200g it`s $3.70 200g to 500 g cost 7.40 to mail to USA so it`s the same in your country but with different rate. I know they went up latly too,

Im using #000 for the most part sometimes bigger ones but it doesnt matter because i cut them down so that it's just around the card(s) and then tape it up to remove any excess weight.

Going on that site the cheapest option it gives me is

First-Class Mail® International Parcel (0 pounds 2 ounces) $3.15 which is what I pay usually but can't find the less than $2 option.

Maybe the lady who is putting it into the machine is doing it wrong and that's why it's cheaper sometimes?

I am A Canadian that lives in the US and have shipped both ways.

On January 22 of this year USPS upped their International Shipping Costs by a whopping 83.1%. This leaves the smallest bubble envelop with one card in it shipped to Canada at exactly a $3.00 Cost.

If you ship 4 cards, about $3.15-$3.25. There is no getting around it my friend, unless you put the card in a PWE at .85 cents and hope for the best.

$3.00 is the minimum charge that you can get away with using a bubble envelop.

it has to be a mistake, i ship at least 20 packages a week to canada and for a normal card, team bad and some cardboard the package costs 3.15 where ever im shipping to in canada
i also was on vacation one time in pa and shipped to canada and it only cost 1.95 and that i do not know why lol

Your post office is charging you the letter rate. You are lucky and fortunate. Some USPS depots don't have a clue.

Trust me. The bubble envelop is supposed to be treated in the same manner as a Big Box. You are getting the very favorable "Letter Rate"

Yes also i wouldnt mention it to any of the other employees either if you want to continue to get that rate either. She should be charging you the parcel package international rate of $3 + dollars. But she's currently charging you the large envelope rate from the sounds of it.

Yeah i don't plan to. It's actually the postmaster that's charging me this rate too. I got another lady today who had absolutely no clue what she was doing (It took her 20 minutes to do 6 packages) but she charged me the proper amount. Im just going to have to hope that lady is working when i go to ship haha.

All I know is shipping from the USPS to Canada has really jumped and is now more expensive than shipping from Canada Post to the USA. Used to be the opposite.
