Bartering Success
Back in February I began with a Taylor Hall SPA FWAP and through around 4-5 transactions have now picked up a 2009-10 The Cup Gretzky Messier Stanley Cup Dual Auto /25 and $220 Cash to spend on PC items.
So I started with around $180 in SV and now have $390 in SV.
Anybody else have any good bartering success stories?

I decided about 15 years ago to concentrate on 50 key players. I collected everything madly, traded, bought cheap lots on the secondary market etc.. Please remember, these are all inserts, parallels, cheap rookies and base. This is before game-used.
I stopped busting boxes in 2004 pretty much for good.
My outlay was about $8,000.00 from 1997-2004. Since 1999 I have reaped $16,000.00 cash return. Now those 50 Players with the exception of 3-4 are all going to the Hall Of Fame.
The Downside? - I was keeping inventories of between 250,00-500,000 cards at one time, not for the faint of heart. I still have about 1/8th of the inventory left to sell. I should be able to hit the $20,000.00 Gross by Christmas, or $12,000.00 net profit.
It's not huge money, but still profit in return.
Word of the Wise: Unless you sell Journeyman Rookies immediately and strike while the iron is hot, you will end up eating hundreds of Rookies that over time will net you NO Value.
Don't be a Bagholder as I was with Patrik Stefan and Pavel Brendl.

Pavel Brendl! Oh how I remember. I agree with centrehice. I think even just recently, all the Giroux and Stamkos prices skyrocketing since 2008/09. You could of got a Stamkos FW Auto for $100 in 2009. Now it is double. But on the flip side, Steve Mason was a hot commodity and his stuff is now almost worthless. It is easier to trade up, per-say, with higher end stuff because people won't be too worried about values. If I collected Subban, and had a Hall $200 SV card FT for a Subban /10 $150 SV I'd do it. So congrats on the deals!
