Hey everyone
I am a new member to this website, making a return to collecting different sports items.
A little background on myself: I am a native of Portsmouth, Virginia (near Norfolk/Virginia Beach), and right now I spent most of my time bouncing across Virginia, West Virginia, and the states that border them.
I am currently finishing up undergrad while working for a few different organizations as a sports reporter. I am a beat writer covering minor league prospects throughout the Appalachian League, an intern reporter at an NBC-affiliate TV station, a sports editor for a small college newspaper, and I do live baseball, basketball, and football play-by-play commentary for different outlets.
When I moved off to college, my sports collection was boxed up and forgotten about in a shed. Over the last month, I have picked up some of the boxes from my childhood home and I have been digging through them and uncovering so many forgotten pieces of my collection. The boxes are filled with autographs, balls, cards, game-used items, and more. Unfortunately, quite a few things were damaged by water while they were being stored while I was off at school, including a game-used NFL football signed by members of the 1991 Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles, a basketball signed by several NBA players including Kevin Garnett, a diecast signed by Richard Petty, and countless baseball and football cards.
I have chased in-person autographs at NASCAR races, baseball games, and public appearances for most of my life. Of course, I can't do this at events that I'm covering, as tempting as it is, because I have to stay professional.
I am pretty new to the online world of sports collectors, but I just started a blog where I will be posting updates on different boxes as I open them, any new items or autographs that I obtain, or any fun stories from sports events that I cover. I will also be trying to work some TTM autographs for the first time.
I look forward to corresponding with you guys and sharing successes.

Thanks for the well wishes. I'll be heading out to cover the tail end of the Bluefield Blue Jays and Princeton Rays season in the Appalachian League, and this fall I will (hopefully) be returning to coverage of Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and Marshall football.
