UK and europe collectors
Hi guys,
Lately I have seen more and more people with a uk flag next to their names...This made me think...if you live in britain like i do, you know that collecting is much more difficult...there is no hockey card gettogethers, shows etc in the UK....I was wondering wether there is enough of us to actually make some kind of get together, trade some cards, maybe order a case of smthn and break it...start a little online shop in the UK....whatever, basically somehow promote hockey card collecting while having fun and extending our collections...any ideas, inputs, opinions???

I hope you get some good responses on this. Anything that helps the Hobby grow is a good thing and your idea is the truest form of the Hobby.
Best of luck

I agree, it is really tough for us over here. We pay double shipping to get our cards so it does make it more expensive. As for a meet up, that would be awesome.
I am talking to a guy called Benn on Hobby Insider who lives in Norfolk but to be honest there's not many of us about :(

pheebs888 (hope i got it right) lives in the UK and i see she is very involved with SCF...surely she does have some UK contacts...I live in London...I think (beside from the selfish reasons) that london would be a cool place to meet up, as people just do go there sometimes for a weekend or so anyway...i mean there is a lot of stuff to do once we are done with cards:)
Anyway lets try to see who lives where in the UK and then we can proceed with some next steps...And please if you see a british flag here, direct them to this thread...thank you

That's right, yeah. Karine moves back to Canada next month but I remember another mod saying that she would be able to run a report on who is a regular on here in Europe that could meet up.
But, if I see any fellow Europeans, I'll direct them to this thread.
London would have been my suggestion, too. Capital, easy for more-or-less everyone to get to as well. Maybe we could catch an Elite game or something whilst we're there?!

pheebs: thanks well be waiting
stop_dreaming: yea, great idea with the elite game (sucks, that there is no NHL in London this year...) An elite game would be a great place to promote the hobby as well, maybe meet some new people, that might be interested in collecting...If you pay money to go watch british hockey u really must LOVE the sport:)

I haven't been to an Elite game before (closest team is Cardiff Devils for me - 40 minutes away), but I do go and watch my local team, Bristol Pitbulls in the English National League Division South. I think it's 3 down from the Elite.
