1952 Topps Mickey Mantle - Best Baseball Card?

Is this the best baseball card of all time? This PSA 1.5 is selling for over $3,100 and ill likely sell much higher. Seem that no matter how beat up this card is, it will sell for thousands.

This is the one card you pray you could have in your collection! The one card that would most likely be come your collection! And EVERYONE wants one! I had held one in my collecting days. Notice I said Held because I have never owed one. But wish I did and dream i may someday!

The 1952 Topps Mantle is really the most desired card in the hobby by the average collector. Sure, people say the T206 Wagner or similar cards due to insane value and rarity, but most of us want a 52 Topps Mantle. I would say $3100 for the card shown is underpriced, it should easily be over $4000. I have a PSA-1 and even with cards of Ruth, Gehrig, etc, its my favorite card in my collection.

'48 Bowman of Stan "The Man" Musial would be the treasure of my card collection.

I understand the appeal to this card but I also think it's possibly the most overrated of all cards. It's not rare, is easy to find at any given moment, and isn't even his rookie card. I would much rather have a '49 Leaf Paige, '54 Wilson Franks Williams or Campanella, '54 Topps Aaron, T3 Cobb, or any number of cards before the '52 Mantle. I would actually take a '52 Topps Mathews before the Mantle.

That being said, I WILL own one someday. LOL
