LCS Ginter Pack Break. Oh no, not again!

I do love me some Ginter, and Enigma's 6 packs made me wanted to patron my LCS's. Stopped by the first and got 6 packs. Nothing terribly awesome except...

    Russel Martin relic!

That'll fetch some nice minis. Plus, he's in a Dodger's uniform, and not a Yankee's uniform anymore, so I don't want to throw it away!

Then I visited my favorite of the two LCS's to shoot the breeze with the owner, Brian. Apparently he and a customer split a box of Ginter before I got there and were a little disappointed. The box Brian had out had 8 packs left. With any other product I would be hesitant because who knows if someone bought the other 16 and stopped because they got all the hits? Who knows. But as I've stated numerous times, with Ginter it's all about the minis! So I bought them without hesitation.

In fact, in a PM I said this yesterday or the day before:

Fourth pack in? Here's the dialogue:

Me: (flips straight to the mini) YES! Short Print Black Bordered mini! (#340, look up the subject, I don't have it on me right now)
Other Customer: You got a good one there.
Me: I KNOW! It's a SP Black Bordered mini! These are the best!
Other Customer: No, you've got a good one there.
Me: You said that already, this is one of the best minis I've pulled so far!
Other Customer: You got a redemption dere. (Yes, we're in Minnesota. It was 'dere', not 'there')
    Me: What?
Other Customer: Yeah, right dere. It's a redemption.

So, I look and see the little scratch off fun on the back of the card and I'm being urged to flip it over to see what it's for...

    Meh. Could have been better.

Second time this guy has shown up in a pack of my beloved Ginter yesterday.

Also pulled a relic of some guy I've never heard of out of the other pack. Jeremy Hellickson? Double meh.

The real winner of the day? The mini of my dog! MBF-6 Miniature Daschund!

Speaking of my dog, I should probably go take her for a walk. Thanks for reading!

That's what I said! They kept trying to offer me the handful they had from their half box break apiece, and I had to decline. I hate declining trades for minis, even if they're grotesquely not in my favor.

Good post! I always enjoy reading your breaks.

That is a very sweet pull, congrats! You should be able to get a lot of minis for it.

Just a quick update, I scratched off the code and redeemed it, says the shipment date is 10/26/2012... WOW. That's a long time from now.

I promised my LCS owner I'd bring it in once I received it, looks like we'll all be waiting until September. We'll see how the card looks when it comes back and whether or not it should be sent to BSG for grading. I'm not usually the grading sorts, and the framed minis are really well protected as is, but getting it slabbed professionally might not be a bad choice so it can sit nicely as the centerpiece of my Gintercave. It's like a Mancave, except for Ginter stuff. There's a corner dedicated to man stuff, like a mini fridge and a recliner.

Awesome break Swo,haven't you figured it out, you're destined to pull great relics and auto's from ginter but the elusive mini's you so crave will keep alluding you.
