    New York PG situation

Knicks' PG situation just makes me laugh.

They sign Kidd to help mentor Jeremy Lin, then let Jeremy Lin walk away. Kidd goes DUI with that news lol

He couldn't believe he needs to "mentor" Felton instead haha

What a poor decision by Knicks. Lin himself would have brought more than enough money for them just with jersey sales.

Great situation for Lin to get out from Melo iso offense and maybe he can have a solid foundation with young core in Houston.

Nice to see Lin sign for a team for $28 million that released him just a year ago. The Knicks just don't have a clue, they did sign Felton though, but that won't cut it. The Knicks are a 35 win team.

I know some will argue that Lin didn't play enough and is still unproven. But from a marketing standpoint, he's huge. Houston saw how much of the Asian market they were able to capture with Yao Ming. Linsanity was off the charts. It's just pure numbers. If you can a get a fraction of a billion people to buy a Lin jersey with your logo on it, you're bringing buckets of money to the bank.

That aside, I don't know why the Knicks said they'd match any offer sheet Lin signs up to a billion dollars, and now they trade for Felton. If they don't match the offer sheet, then they look like fools. The Rockets called their bluff.

Another possibility is that they're looking to move Melo.

Hey Melo, you sure sound jealous. Just because Lin showed you up. It's not his fault. Go look in the mirror for the problem with your game. Pot calling the kettle black.

You turned up, Melo. We can all smell it. - Uncle Drew

This is a great move by the Rockets and Lin. Like you said before, in sales alone they are going to be making tons of money. I hate when organizations make all their decision based on ONE player's opinion. You are not going to have a winning team with just one player and that is what the Knicks have.

While I do think that the Knicks would have been better with Lin than Felton.... I see them still winning more then 50% of their games... And I think they are a playoff team.....I can't think of eight teams better than them.

Come to think of it the east has some bad teams, the Nets got better, the 76ers are a team on the rise, the Pacers will be there. The Hawks are in trouble but I think the Celtics will still make the playoffs. Maybe the Knicks will be a 7 or 8 seed.

I hope the celtics will remain a top 4 seed in the east. I see the Knicks like 6th or 7th seed. Felton, smith until shumpert returns, melo, amare, and Chandler is solid starters..... We still need to see what Kidd and others can do off the bench.

Raymond Felton is probably a more solid option at PG then Lin, at least for now.
Lin maybe great in a couple years but Felton is proven.
Remember back in 2010-11 when Felton had a sick 1/2 year with the Knicks, he averaged 17pts and 9ast per game. I'd take that!

So you're willing to sell the potential of a better player for some short term stability? Just happy with 8th seed and getting bounced in the 1st round?

Forget about the droves of new basketball fans because of Linsanity. Plus all the merchandise they bought. This is beyond basketball. It's big business. It's about the Knicks brand. How many Asian-American basketball fans are going to buy a Lin jersey even though they're not a Knicks fan? Apparently, boatloads. Maybe casual Asian fans begin to buy Knicks caps, t-shirts, etc. Imagine if Linsanity takes China by storm too. Play a few exhibition games there. Bring Yao there too. If only 0.1% of the population buys a Lin jersey, that's a million jerseys.

How many people are going to run to the store and buy a Felton jersey?

If you look at it from just a basketball perspective, then, yes, Lin is overpaid and it is a ridiculous contract. But the Rockets see past that. They're looking at the millions that they can make because they already made millions from Yao on merchandising. The Rockets know that it's a huge untapped market. Apparently, the Knicks don't. We'll all find out for sure soon.

Houston is the only other city ( with it's Asian ties ) with the ability to make Linsanity even bigger than in NYC.

Basketball wise, I am happy for Lin because I hate Melo and he will never win anything so I'm glad he doesn't need to play with player like that. The Rockets have a good young core going and would be pretty crazy if they added D12 ( can't stand him though).

No doubt, the money is overpaid but already stated, Houston will NOT be losing money with him on the team.

It's still Lebron and the Heat's title to lose next year in my opinion.
