It should cost around $19 for postage including tracking, and then add our wonderful taxes it becomes close to $21 from Canada.

    ^THIS

It also depends on who's in the post office for me as well. If the card is thicker, then it might end up costing more.

    Registered mail costs 14.95$

Postage starts at $4.20 for a small bubble mailer. Quickly goes to $7.40 for a mid size and tops out at $14.80 for a large package.

+tax (its either a flat 6%, or as high as 13%, I forget)

Also, keep in mind that registered mail only covers documents. I believe that cards won't technically qualify for coverage, but if you are only concerned about the registration, then you might be able to get away with it.

IF the person has to send as a package. Your starting price is, get ready.... 70$ for Xpresspost as a single small bubble mailer. No kidding.

    GL & Cheers,

thats a shocker :-O thanks a lot for the information guys! :-) i aquired a maybe 100+ $ card for 55$, but including the registered shipping w/ tracking that i got charged 30$ for (so total already 85), my win margin gets pretty slim :-/
DHL / Deutsche Post unbelievable charges only $ 2,50 extra for registered mail with tracking, for an extra $2,50 you get insurance for a value of 120 $. don't know why that is so cheap, public services are not particularly cheap here normally (or maybe the question is why the tracking is so expensive with US Mail / CP). ... keep it as a secret please, not that they get the idea to raise it up here ;-9
