Need Some Advice On Shipping Lots
Hey everyone,
I need some advice for shipping larger lots while keeping costs down. I recently sold a lot of 75 cards for $55 shipped. I was able to fit all 75 toploaders into 4 medium-sized bubble envelopes. This is the first large lot I have sold/shipped. To my amazement, each envelope cost $7.98 to ship. It came to almost $35 to ship $75 cards in toploaders. I ended up losing a lot of money on this.lol.
Is there a cheaper way to ship a large lot such as this? Should I ship in a box? Is it acceptable to ship in clasp cases (avoiding the weight/bulk of toploaders). As I said, I am used to only shipping 1-5 cards at a time. This was my first lot sold. It seems to me that there must be some ways of cutting shipping costs. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
Kindest Regards,
Tyler

Small box. One of those 100ct. snap cases would work great. Put in a folded penny sleeve and/or decoy cards to fill any dead space. Ship in a small box, will keep it down to $12-$15 depending on how you ship (Expedited via PayPal shipping works ideally) and that comes with $100 insurance built into it.

Depends on where you are shipping to. Using the 50 count or 100 count cases really come in handy here, top loaders become expensive because they weigh more and take up more space. If you've ever participated in a GB and got a ton of cards, they'll ship to you in these cases, so I think it's a generally approved practice!

Thanks for the replies guys. I was not aware if it was acceptable to ship in snap cases. I have always been extremely careful to ensure that all of my cards arrive in perfect condition to anyone I deal with. Toploaders provide that protection but I find that they take up way too much space in an envelope. I will definitely start to ship larger lots in snap cases. Today's trip tot he post office proved costly for me.lol. Thanks guys

I've never had a situation where splitting up a lot made it less expensive than shipping them all together in one package. You can also use one of those 330 ct cardboard boxes to ship the top loader cards and use it like a regular shipping box.

Heh, try shipping graded cards my friend. You can do two for $2.10 in one envelope, or pay the parcel rate for 3+.

Put a lot of cards in sleeves and then in one thick loader or use the 2 piece cases.
