Your article is doing exactly what it accuses the media of doing - cherrypicking it's facts. Anyone (on both sides) can scour the statistics and find numbers that when looked at alone, support the arguement they want to make.

Throw out all the stats and the simple fact is; no one needs to own a weapon that is capable of MASS killing. Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't the 2nd amendment established to protect the citizenry from its own government and foreign invaders as well? I find it highly unlikely that those that created the amendment had intended for it to be the genesis of a gun culture on steroids that exists now in the US. I recently heard an incredible little tidbit of information the other day. Maybe one of you can vouch for it's accuracy; There are apparently 9 gun dealers for every 1 McDonalds restaurant in the US.

140K registered gun dealers, and about 13K mcdonalds, so no, really it is about 10 to 1.

but some may argue which one will kill you first, too bad they can take away the supersize but not an automatic weapon.

Further proof of the cherry-picking of the author of the article. He cites Switzerland as a country with higher gun ownership rates and a lower crime rate than the US in an effort to discredit gun control. Until you look further and find out that:

John Stewart had a great bit last night on how everyone FOXNews and other right wing pundits are saying "This is not the time to talk about gun control whatsoever" (I believe it's the perfect time for gun control to at least be part of the conversation) but they have no problem with asking if costumes should be banned from movie theaters...

Yes, that's the answer. Costume control will end unnecessary gun violence. Good job guys.

Also, a little ironic that this gets posted considering the amount of propaganda that is usually posted here.
