Well the article is obviously and admittedly biased, but it does make some valid points. My 20th Century History teacher once told me that the political spectrum is actually a circle and if you start at "centerist" and go right you will hit Conservative, corporatist and the fascist. If you're to go right you'll hit liberalist, socialist and the communist (obviously this was being deliberately glib) but that communist and fascist, while polar opposites, both lend themselves to heavy-handed dictatorships. I'm a liberal, you could even call me a socialist (though I'd never sign up for any party) and I do find it hilarious when I am called a liberal, socialist, communist and fascist all by the same people. At the same time I sort of understand the sentiment. The fact of the matter is too far right is just as bad as too far left. Would you rather be under a communist dictatorship or a fascist one. Tell me which party you blindly support and I'll tell you which regime you're really working towards. I'm not saying Romney's supporters are fascists and Obama's are communists, but anyone blindly supporting either side because he's Republican or Democrat is working towards a dictatorship whether they'll admit it, know it or don't.
Interesting points made, though.

FACT: The U.S has been a "Progressive" country for the past century.
Conservatives want to live in a make belief fantasy world where everything is "traditional" and nothing ever changes.
Sorry, real life America is quite the opposite.

Funny how liberals call conservatives the "corporate owned" party. Liberals fail to admit obama is in the pocket of big oil, wall street, GE especially(why do they hide profits offshore and get away with it?), as well as the greenie weenie corporations. The list goes on of the corporate owners of liberals.
Liberals live in denial. When a liberal accuses a conservative of something, it is to deflect attention away from the fact they are guilty of it.
And by the way, communists are by definition facists. How else would they install communism accept through facism. The only difference between socialism and communism is that socialists give the illusion of property ownership.

Communism and fascism are two different things. Just because they both end up in ruthless dictatorship doesn't mean they're the same thing. Or is the distinction only another of the great liar's lies?

Obama is definitely NOT in the pocket of big oil.
