I think it's mostly ridiculous. I've never heard anyone call someone who disagreed with Obama's policies a "terrorist". I've never heard a black person hate a white person and then claim "it's my first amendment right". Also, don't know about anyone else, but I was in school for a long time, and never once did I ever hear the words "Homosexuality is okay". We merely learned of its existence.

I have to say, I'm really getting tired of all this stuff. When a liberal is in charge, the Republicans say he's ruining America. When a Republican is in charge, liberals claim tyranny and label him a pro-war, anti-poor megalomaniac. This whole deal is ridiculous. If America is on the downslope, it has far less to do with the individual viewpoints of each political party and far more to do with our inability to bridge gaps among us, which crap like this essay only serve to propagate.

I couldn't say it better myself.

Then why spend even a minute in a political discussion forum? It's like saying you are an atheist, spending hours of your time in church and then complaining that everyone keeps talking about God! :)

Because I happen to believe there is a middle ground in all this noise. And I'm choosing to vocally occupy it. You don't HAVE to be a "godless liberal" or a "fear-mongoring conservative" to be a part of the political world. You can just look at each individual issue and decide what makes sense.

I think he's sick of the rhetoric and wants politicians to work wogether to run the country instead of compete against each other and tear it apart.

Which is what America has beome. A Nation divided. I believe a lot of blame lays with the media who don't report what's going on, but seek to stir up emotion, which "sells papers" as it were. Your media is divided, so your nation is divided. Left wing media spouts hatred of the right and vice versa. Meanwhile your politicians preach non-partisanship, then turn around and play partisan politics.
The media can be a great thing, or the worst thing in the world. If people will take everything said as gospel and only listen to what they agree with, it will always be the latter.

In America, it will always be the latter.

You guys want a middle ground, some compromise?

    Eliminate the 2 party system!!!

Let EVERY politician run independently with absolutely NO party affiliation.....watch how quickly things would change!

You know whats wrong with America, its simple

Americans have become lazy, we expect everything to be handed to us and we have lost the ability to fend for ourselves. We have become dependent on others to cloth and feed us. We allow stupid little things to get in the way of the truly important issues and politicians laugh at us because we fall for their stupid ploys like a cattle led to slaughter. 100 years ago if someone lost it all they just restarted, moved or stayed put, now most would not know what to do and just waste away and die.... And this just doesn't apply to Americans but most of societies in general
