    u think yao's got game?

u guys think he's got some skill or is it cause he's tall personaly..i think he's not that great! he's a player a foot taller than every body else and he's not that domanent...hopefully he'll learn to get better and be more a factor for the rockets i think if he stepped up and started scoring...it would give t-mac alot easy of shots and the rockets would be a force...like the kobe/shaq age...hopefully yao can become a better player...i'm not a rockets fan but i am disappointed with how he's played

I am a Rockets fan, and I really don't think it's all Yao's fault. I mean, without MCGrady and Yao, who does Houston have? Nobody. They need some more players on that team to take the pressure from Yao and T-mac. Yao could improve many parts of his game, but I think the main problem is the lack of talent other than Yao and T-Mac

true true there is a huge lack of talent what they need is some young talent...i think they've moved some little roll players that they should have kept.. like jim jackson but i have no problem with it cause i am a suns fan and also moochie norris he was a pretty good player

i agree that yao was way overhyped coming into the league. He has poor footwork and speed and has relied on his height for way to long. If he would use his body better and put on upper body muscle he would be dominate...

he may not have any talent around him except mcgrady but that is why he is more of a role player in my opinion... he needs other stars around him to get his 10-12 points where a true star would take the ball and take over a game... i have yet to see a game where he just took over

To me Yao is very talented, when he gets the ball in the post he is very dangerous. The only problem is he isn't very mobile so it's tough to get him the ball at times even with his height. He has a nice shot and a very good free throw shooter for a big man. Defensively he really struggles because of his slow feet, and it's hard to control all that body. You would think at his height he would block a lot more shots than he does but he's yet to develop a sense of doing so. A lot of times he ends up in early foul trouble because of his poor defense.

i don't know i think the rockets have made some right moves to help yao develope his game with getting patrick ewing and mutombo knows a thing or two...but like tutall said he needs to take over the game and creat for himself...if he became as dominant as shaq or hakeem, ewing, kareem etc teams would have to think twice about the game plan against the rockets

Slow feet is right! When Yao runs, it looks like he is running in cement with ankle weights on.

Don't get me wrong; I like Yao.

I have seen him get 30pt/15rb, and he looks like a monster. But then I've seen him get 12pt/4rb a game later, and you realize he is not a *super*star. That being said, he is still one of the top centers in the NBA.

lakersMC: well he's one of the top centers cause now days theres not that many quality centers out there...most centers only know how to shoot the three or long ranged shots...centers aren't what they used to be...

Yeah, I can't think of 2 decent centers besides Shaq & Yao right now.
I think that's what made Erick Dampier claim he was the "2nd best center in the league".
