SP Authentic 2007-2008 cards in rough shape?

I've been piecing together cards from SP Authentic and I've noticed that when i get cards from 2007-2008 that the corners and sometimes the edges are not in best shape (then again i'm quite picky when it comes to these things).

When I Trade or Buy SP authentic 2007-2008 cards from a fellow trader i notice that there is some chipping at the top and slight whitening on the corners of the back of the card (usually the same spots). not to say that they are in rough shape, but I would place the card condition at NR-MT rather then mint.

which brings me to a few conclusions.

    A) i'm very unlucky
    B) upper deck has monkeys running their quality control.
    C) it's fairly common

    Has anyone else noticed this?

These cards are impossible to grade due to the top colored border, the corners/top edge usually shows white.Havent look at the grading population latelly but the population of the big 3 where less then a handfull each.

Very condition sensitive set, I had the Kane, Toews and Price all graded 9.5 and at the time I think the Kane was a pop 1, the Price was 2 and the toews was 3, last I checked there was a couple more. I still have the Kane and Price.
