UD Screw Up Ultimate Collection
Was browsing for new flames cards in the new release of ultimate and came across this card. Im not saying its fake because the seller is reputable and i have bought from him many times. So im assuming this is a goof by upperdeck.

Obviously Irving was a rookie this year, and the flames did not have the horse logo on their uniforms since 2006 if i am not mistaken. Maybe the inserted a kiprusoff patch in this card? Who Knows.....

If im correct 2006 was the year he got drafted (I was there at the draft and happend to get his auto!). Im going to say that it is NOT fake. Instead it is in fact from the 2006 jersey when he first got drafted. The rookie stuff are usually photoshoot/event jerseys. UD probably had the Irving patches cut up from his draft year jersey and inserted.
Hope that clears things up!

Maybe it's from his Abbotsford Heat Jersey?
I'm not sure seems a bit fishy.

It isn't fake obviously, the product came out today. It is either a wrong jersey or as someone else said, the 2006 one.

UD is notorious for using OLD jerseys for any rookie.
It's photoshoot. They tell them to put it on for a few seconds, take a picture (which they will never use), and then claim the jersey has been worn by the player.
They also have stock piles of old jersey they need to get rid of ...
There it is folks, a fresh UD photoshoot jersey for you.
It's not a screw up. It's on purpose lol.
example: 2010-11 Ultimate Auto Rookie NHL Shield Jeff Skinner /1 ... they used an old shield from the pre-lockout NHL. Jeff Skinner was drafted at least 4-5 years after.

The Stephane DaCosta SP Authentic Patch cards are from an old Ottawa Senators jersey.

Upper deck did the same thing with the Michael Neuvirth SP Authentic Future Watch Patch cards. He wore a black caps jersey in a photo shoot that noone ever used, they cut it up and put it in the cards. It caused a ton of confusion, and its the only card that ever had black or gold patches. As a Neuvy collector, I think it was kind of interesting myself.

Not a screw-up and not a fake. Leland Irving would have attended rookie photo shoot sessions years ago and probably wasn't even expected by UD to get an NHL debut this year, so it's not as though he would have been at the 2011-12 photoshoot where he could have put on a few more recent jerseys. They gotta use up the stock somehow right?
Let's not be so quick to pull out the old Jump to Conclusions mat, OK?
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
