Dear Topps....what have you got to say about this? ("1/1" issue)
A while ago I posted when I completed the following rainbow:

Pretty sweet, huh?
It took a while, but I was happy to finish it.
I never thought I'd add to it.....

Then again............

I'm calling these 1/1, 2/1 & 3/1....what do you think?
(For the record, all have the Topps 1/1 hologram on the back. They are not fakes.)

Are they the exact same cards? Didn't they make like 3 million different cards for each player in that set? For different stats and colored parallels for each?

Not for Buchholz (and other rookies). There are only 3 different cards, each with "2008" on the front (instead of s statistic).
They are the EXACT same cards.

For what it's worth (and I don't know anything about this set), beckett.com lists 3 cards - #s 151, 152, and 153 - which, I assume, are the three variations you have.
And THEN, they list each 1/1 have TWENTY-ONE versions...they list them as 151-1, 151-2, 151-3, 151-4, and so on up to 151-21. All w/ the 1/1 print run. Same numbering goes for all three (152 and 153 go from -1 to -21 also).
Not sure how they consider them all 1/1...is there something different in the print on the back? Stats? Something else?Last edited by jmintz; 08-07-2012 at 01:15 PM.

I remember when this was first noticed for several rookies. They made a huge printing mistake because yes...there were only supposed to be 3 1/1s for the rookies. Other cards in the set had multiple 1/1s for different stat lines on front of the cards, but the rookies were supposed to be unique 1/1s. Topps was told about this in 2008 I believe when multiples of RCs started popping up all over and I don't believe they ever explained it...just bad quality control at the presses...someone forgot to reset the print run counter on the machines I'm guessing.
