I am an avid basketball collector and here is what I observed on exquisite collection basketball. You should buy a pack or two or how ever many you can as soon as it comes out at the lowest price you can find it at. Within 1-2 months of release, the pack price will raise by $100-$200 per pack. For example, the first 3 days 04-05 exquiste basketball was out it was selling for $500 per pack on sportscardswholesale.com. After 3 days, it was going for $600. After 1 week it was going for $750. Right now, 6 months after release, it is selling for $925 per pack. It is selling for that even though sales of the top rookie, ben gordon, has slowed somewhat. It will be pretty hard at that price to get that much out of it, even if you pull a Michael Jordan auto. Football seems to be hotter than basketball for the most part and this year has some pretty good rookies. My advice is to buy it, don't open it and sell it for hundreds of dollars of profit down the road a few months. I am confident that you will make money doing that. (that is if you can resist the temptation of opening it for that long)
