Template Making Tutorial
I've received a number of messages asking how I put together my cards. I've covered my actual physical card-making process on this thread:
https://www.sportscardforum.com/threa...nting-Tutorial
To make the actual card template in Photoshop, I create a .PSD file consisting of multiple layers. These layers all lay on top of each other to form the templates that I use to make each individual card.

In the example above, you can see how each aspect of the card exists on its own layer. This allows me to make each individual card by adjusting just a few layers. The basics of the card never change: the background, signature areas, "Signature Edition" text and shadow, etc. Basically everything that has the "locked" icon on it stays the same from card to card.
All I have to do to make each card with this template is add the new player image, add a drop shadow to it, change the player and team text and then change the color of the stripes to match the team colors.
By using a template like this, I don't have to make a new card from scratch each time.
Take your time when you make your template. I have templates that have 40+ layers in them. You're always better off having more layers than too few. By using layers, you can add or subtract parts of the card as your design changes.
I hope this helps answer some questions! Good luck!
