I'm trying to make some custom made cards for players who have recently retired or left the NHL (and the bunch that will follow if there's a lockout). I can usually find a card for them but it's from their 2nd last season and doesn't show their complete stats unless it's a guy like Lidstrom who'll likely get an OPC soon enough. I like to scrapbook each season via UD Series1/2 base sets plus retired players.

But way to do this for me is to make the card myself and include whatever numbers/stats I want and then put it on some photo paper (around 4 inches by 6 inches).

Would anyone have a template for that size? Or have some advice on how to make one and with what program? My photoshot skills aren't the best but if it's just copying/pasting a picture with some text then not a problem, I'm not looking for a fancy design or anything.
