Curious that UD would put "MARTY" on Brodeur's card. He has been going by "MARTIN" Brodeur for as long as I can remember, even in the UD sets. I can't remember an UD card with "MARTY" Brodeur. It would be interesting to know why they made this change.

I'm not a fan of this, but I never been much a BD fan.

So instead of Gold and Platinum its now Emerald and Sapphire, why the change there?

Rookie Gems design almost looks like a design you would see in series 1-2 just in chrome, not impressed kind of plain.

At least they are still doing the the 4 card jersey puzzle that was kind of fun last yer putting a couple of the puzzles together.

Emerald was in 2005/06 if I'm not mistaken... It's very baseball oriented though IMO, as colours have dominated the baseball foil card market especially with the rookies. However it cannot be overdone and has to be the right colour to look right. The rookies look like YGs, not really inline with the past rookie gems at all. also, the championship rings seem more focus on branding than anything else. They look ugly.

Some things I am worried about:
Autos/parallel curse: although it doesn't say, for the players with auto'd versions of parallels, will they still have their plain parallels on top of that?
autos: stickered? We all saw how the pinnacle rookie autos turned out...

Ice rookies look great though, as always. However this seems like a lesser version of Certified with the colours and all the parallels. Not sure what to think...

Gold and Platinum were my favourite parallels... really hoping these new ones don't look bad. The green Emeralds from older versions didn't look that great
