Had a really good day at the Tri Star yesterday. Picked up several items, just don't have time to post them all right at the moment. Really liked this one!!! Dak's stuff has really come down quite a bit and was able to get this off a guy that was going from table to table trying to sell stuff. I'll post other items within the next day or 2.

Ok, so in addition to the Dak 1/1 in my last post, these are the other PC auto pickups from the Tri Star this past weekend:

In addition to these, I had several other low end pickups to fill some holes in my Emmitt PC. Also had some cards RCRd and those cards are now with Beckett to get slabbed. Should have them back in a couple weeks. Really happy with some of the grades I got on them. This probably was the best weekend I have ever had at a Tri Star. At least from the standpoint of picking up stuff.

As usual, awesome adds Brant! Is that the Gold version of the other Dak Progression you have? I bet the Blue version is ridiculously awesome, if there is one.
I guess since PhotoBucket is kaput we have the pleasure to admire cards we might have seen but forgotten about.
While taking new pictures I started caring about lighting more and more. Never realized how important it is in photography. I try to bring out the effect of each card... So, here's a few:

90s Triplets: Thanks and I love your adds as well. I really like the Irvin adds!!!
That Dak is the Gold version of the Emerald one I already had. Dak's stuff is significantly cheaper than it was this time last year because he didn't have a good season. Kind of a risk to pick his stuff up but it was at a price I couldn't turn down. At the Tri Star Show, I also dropped off a few to get graded by Beckett. That Emerald one was one of them. Still got a couple of weeks before I'll have them back in hand but that Emerald got a 9.5!!!
The lighting is definitely important! I take all mine on the kitchen counter with an undercounter light. Took me trying many different things until I found the counter light works best. Your lighting looks real good!!

Brant,
Thanks. I may start taking individual pics of the Cowboys Gold Collection... Some of them are crazy nice anyway so it'll be fun to show them off too! Do you have LED lights where you take photos?

I always like viewing Cowboys cards, so looking forward to seeing the Golds if you decide to take new pics. The counter lights that I use are LED.

Hits from my Select case break last weekend. Got all these from 1 case and then got basically skunked on the other 2 cases. I have another break this weekend so hopefully it goes a bit better. I do like the design of Select this year. Just hoping to have a bit more success and not get skunked in 2 out of 3 cases.

Larry Brown Auto! Nice! Just got this.. you can just see the next stripe of black on the left edge of swatch. Where the little nick in the edge of the card that dropped it's grade so low...
11/15

I decided to photo each Gold card in line according to year. Got to '98 so far...

'94 - Card's got a Cowboys Helmet on it so this qualifies as a Cowboys Parallel! I says so!

'94 - This is the closest to the actual color of real gold on a card I've come across. Not a glistening shiny but deeply gold... like they talk about on car auction shows, you could fall into the paint it looks so deep.

'95

'95 - This is just an awesome card. Not parallel but it goes in too. I says so!

'95 - Smoking during a photo shoot... I hope he got fined for that!

Of course these aren't ALL of the Gold cards going in the binder... guys like Stephret Williams, Bobby Carpenter, and even Quincy Carter will be included.

'96 - Whoever signed off on this idea hopefully got fired. All I can make out is an arm in that mess

'96 - This cards' design executive on the other hand...

'97

'97 - Unfortunately this is the Promo version XXXX/0030

'98 247/500

'98 47/61 - If it weren't for the surface color on Irvin I'd send this one in.

Graded case done!!! Really like the way it turned out. Thinking I might want to paint it, but going to leave it as is for now.
