Risk getting an upper deck replacement?
I just pulled a gardiner Fwa patch. Nothing too special about the patch(white patch). When I turn the card over and looked at the back I can see some small chipping on the surface.
I already have deal for a better patch card coming in and I'm now debating if it is worth risking an upper deck replacement. Opinions?

With a boring white patch, I'd take a chance and see what happens with a replacement.

We deal with replacements for customers with UD all the time. The problem is that UD or Panini cannot guarantee that you will even receive the same card or one of the same value.
Big gamble.

Yeah I've heard some pretty bad horror stories from people in the forum too

I had an issue with last years SPA FW Patch Brandon Yip /100. Dinged corner. Sent it in and got a: SPX /25 Yip multi colour patch (hate sticker autos tho), and a SPA FW Yip /999.

last year I sent in 3 Future Watch Patches
Alex Plante, Jordan Caron and Colby Cohen (all of them had nice to spectacular patches but were damaged badly on the right side)
my replacement was
FW Patch of Dustin Kohn and Jacob Josefson along with FW RCs /999 of Henrik Karlsson and Kevin Shattenkirk
the Josefson had a very nice 3 colored Patch (NJ is hard when it comes to patches) and I could have been happy
BUT
UD did not tape the toploaders and the patches came out of the toploaders and were both damaged (dinged corners)
I was really mad ! I sent those patches in again, and made my disappointment clear...
and ended up with
unspectacular 10-11 SPA Patches /100 of Tomas Vokoun and Joe Pavelski.
I am still p...ed with this whole thing, but decided not to do something again... I would have been really happy with the first replacement and really thought they would come through with the second one, because it was their fault not to tape the toploaders... but not really overwhelming in the end.
