Gretzky rookie grading question
Hey guys i have always wanted a Gretzky rookie card since i was young. I found one locally and took a look at it last night. The guy said he had it since he was a kid. I know the condition isn't the greatest mostly the corners as you can see but my main concern is on the back of the card where you can see a black print dot (marker??). I'm unsure what this would do to the value or grading of the card and if it's even worth it. Here's a link to the pics i took though i know they aren't great but they show my concern, the bottom left corner is the worst as it looks a little bent and rounded. I don't want to overpay so would like to hear your input.
Thanks,

Here is a typical grading scale.

First, you have to determine if the mark is actually a mark or a print spot. The difference being that a print spot is actually ink that was misapplied while a mark is something that was added afterwards like a pencil, pen or marker mark.
Based on your images, it looks to be a print spot and it doesn't really detract from the look of the card. It doesn't look like there are any creases. I may be crazy, but am I seeing some staining / yellowing at some of the corners? Edges look very good. Corners are your worst aspect. Very rounded and I'm guessing likely soft too. Centering isn't too bad, but a little to the left and a little high.
My Guesses:
Corners: 2 / Good
Edges: 6 / Ex Mint
Surface: 4 / Vg Ex
Centering: 6 / Ex Mint
I think I would safely offer 75-80$ without being able to see it in person (as long as its legit). In my opinion, a more fair market is somewhere in the range of 120-140$.
Should you grade it? If you plan to sell it, yes. If you plan to keep it, that's up to you.
Cheers,
